Before contacting any firm
- Confirm the lawyer’s current license through the State Bar of California.
- Ask who would be responsible for the matter after intake.
- Request the complete fee-and-cost agreement in writing.
- Do not rely on a recovery figure as a prediction for your case.
- Do not send sensitive records until the receiving firm explains its secure intake process.
